Byron champion ends Stonebraker’s reign in golf final
Major Joseph Byron defeated Carl Stonebraker 3 to 1 in the club championship final. Byron led early and with a par five at the tenth, built a four hole edge before Stonebraker closed to two. Byron clinched the match with a par on the seventeenth as weather remained ideal. Byron finished 78 to 80 and had the qualifying best 76. Prizes to be awarded next Saturday after the second sixteen finale.

Frederick Man Shot In Fight With Dry Ages
Frederick West Virginia near Hale's Gap report says J. T. Hicks 33 of Frederick was shot in the neck by prohibition agents during a fight. Four men were jailed and two autos seized containing 140 gallons of moonshine. Hicks had left Frederick a week earlier and was hospitalized in serious condition.
