Teenager Receives Death Penalty in Florida Killing
In Sebring Florida a 16 year old, Frank Ross Jr. of DeSoto City, was sentenced to death by electric chair for the November 15 1976 murder of 64 year old Helen Dixon of Avon Park during a robbery. A six man six woman jury convicted him of first degree murder in February and recommended the death penalty after 17 minutes of deliberation. Ross faces automatic appeals and his case will go to the Florida Supreme Court. His co defendant James Wells, 17, was sentenced to life in prison for the same crime.
