He allegedly filed false returns for seventeen years and evaded taxes on over 100000 dollars, leading the assessor to place 50000 dollars on the tax duplicate against him.
Boston October 19 The Russian battleship Retvizan built by the Cramps arrived from New York after a straight twelve hour speed trial clocked at 15 knots average with a peak of 16 knots The ship features water tube boilers and nine Krupp armor inches along the belt plus six inches above the deck It carries four 12 inch guns, twelve 6 inch guns and twenty 3 inch guns and is designed with a curved armored deck and bulkheads to protect vitals.

A separate subway accident in New York reported a large rock collapse in the Rapid Transit tunnel near Eleventh Avenue. twelve men survived, four bodies recovered.
