18-Pound Tom Believed Near Record Weight

An 18-pound tom, believed the largest wild turkey killed this season, was weighed in at Howard E. Ankeney's store in Clear Spring yesterday. James A. Angle of Mercersburg was the successful hunter. A 14-pound tom reported by Clarence Ensor of Hempstead, Md. Other hunters listing results at Ankenay's yesterday include Joe Bowers of Hagerstown Rt. 2 with a six-pound hen H. E. Mills of Big Pool with a 10 44 pound tom Thomas P. Brezby of 2001 Wells Manor Baltimore with an eight-pound hen and Frank A. Oliverio of 2402 Echodale Ave. Baltimore with a nine-pound tom.
