Flower Show Prize Winners Announced at Smithsburg Garden Club
Seibert Knode of Boonsboro demonstrated packing flowers for shipping at the Village Garden Club of Smithsburg meeting at Mrs. John Pound’s home. The show at Smithsburg Community House netted funds from flowers, candy, punch and cookies sales. Unsold blooms were donated to local patients and Washington County Hospital. First prize winners included Mrs. D V Pike for several categories, with other honors to Mrs. Lewis Reynolds, Mrs. William Downey, Mrs. Blanche Palmer, Mrs. John Pound, Mrs. Stewart Hartman, Mrs. Stanley Hauver, and Mrs. Charles Wolfinger among others.
