Investigations opened today into the explosion that wrecked a postal receiving station at a government building in Grand Rapids killing three men and injuring thirteen. Authorities weighed whether a bomb or gas ignition caused the blast as police, investigators, and the coroner’s office studied the scene. The blast shattered windows for blocks, hurled debris skyward, and sent witnesses scrambling amid smoke and dust.
