Biggest Buck Brought Down Near Hancock West Virginia
The monarch of the mountains at Great Cacapon near Hancock, a 300 pound buck, one of the largest seen in the east, fell to Trvin Michael of Berkeley Springs on Saturday. The deer had eluded several hunters but was finally brought down after Hack Wilson and another hunter mishit their shot and spooked the deer. The buck was shot through the heart but ran 300 yards before collapsing.

Trout to be put out soon in Washington County
Approximately 5 5 6 trouts will be distributed in the streams of Washington county next week from Cushwa farm ponds west of Hagerstown. A like number will be cut out in the spring. The two 60 by 15 foot ponds were located by the State Game Commission to stock trout locally. Stook Walton League members note that years ago the county’s streams were among the state’s best trout waters and now hold many good steed trout amid some unusually large fish observed last spring.
