More than 1000 listeners heard Hagerstown public school pupils in a two year music program supervised by Miss Electa Ziegler. Prof Thomas Gibson praised the progress and contrasted it with Cincinnati where 1000 children sang a cantata after 80 years of schooling. The finale featured 400 pupils, with America the Beautiful sung by all, directed by Ziegler with pipes and two pianos. Highlights included The Linden Tree and Cradle Song, with solos by Theophora Humelsine and Julia Belle Shenk.
