Judge Warns Truancy Fosters Crime At Indian Springs PTA
Judge Palmer Tennant of the Juvenile Court told a large Indian Springs Parent Teachers Association meeting that truancy often leads to crime. He cited cases where boys twice and four times truant later faced serious offenses and urged parental control and proper home training to prevent ruined lives and criminal tendencies.

Cannon to be placed in boulevard parkway in Hagerstown
Memories of the World War return tonight as a 105 millimeter cannon seized in the war is paraded from the Pennsylvania freight station to Wilson Boulevard. The cannon on wheels will be pulled by a track, with Company B American Legion Drum Corps and Boy Scouts in tow, escorting along Church Prospect Franklin Jonathan Washington Public Square to South Potomac. An unveiling with Congressman David J. Lewis is planned in coming weeks. The barrel will face Antietam Battlefield. Also noted is Britain reporting 1,656,600 motor cars on its roads.
