New York May 19 District Attorney Thomas E Dewey ordered a grand jury investigation of alleged misdemeanor tax evasion by the German American Bund and related entities while pursuing an ongoing inquiry into alleged substantial felonies He informed Fiorello LaGuardia that books of the Bund were subpoenaed May 2 and would be examined in the combined probe Fritz Kuhn and associates and four corporations face the tax related charges while the major felonies investigation continues.
