David Spletmen of North Locmt Terrace fractured both bones in his arm while at work on the attack force. Mr. Eplelmas, longtime city employee, had been off six months and resumed work only days before he was injured.
In Chicago, Frank Ritter mourns his guide dog Parahontas a long trusted companion that helped him navigate twenty one states. A highway accident ended their travels on Michigan Boulevard as an automobile failed to stop. Ritter recalls the dog’s alertness and laments he cannot accept another canine substitute. Meanwhile Rev Dr Hert L G Kieffer marks his fourteenth anniversary as pastor and traces his life from Hagerstown to his 1906 marriage in Lancaster Pa.

In Washington May 19 a new theory by Dr William Jasper Boutman of the National Academy of Sciences and the Department of Agriculture argues Earth and the solar system formed from faster meteorite collisions. Meteorites are fragments of older planets. Earth grows slowly larger as exploding atoms and meteorites heat it while its initial heat fades.
A fragmentary report argues that planets and moons formed from meteorites under gravity of large bodies. It posits the sun formed by colliding meteorite masses, energy converts to heat, and ongoing planetary formation continues as old planets disintegrate.
Washington May 19 The Treasury and Commerce Departments urge legislation to exempt Americans living abroad from domestic income taxes. Mellon and Hoover back the idea saying it boosts U S business overseas and avoids double taxation. Senator Jones Republican of Washington will sponsor a bill next session to remove double taxation and clarify income origins for Americans abroad.
