Speaker Kastle Leads Spring Luncheon Notes

Mr Kastle spoke at the annual spring luncheon of the Johns Hopkins Club of Washington County teachers held at the Hotel Alexander. Clarence M. Castle, manager of Henson Flying Service, discussed government subsidized flying and Army Navy training links. Officers were elected, a Latin American theme ran through decor, and a vocal program preceded lunch.

Camp Dedicated at Weynesboro Council Pondsville Site

Members of the local Girl Scout Council attended the dedication of the Weynesboro Council Camp at Pondsville. Miss Hlea mer Hoover purchased the former farm and donated it to the council. A candlelight service featured a fire in the camp recreation room and a folk dance program by Waynesboro girls. The camp will host Washington county Girl Scouts in August and be open to Hagerstown visitors on May 39.

Miss Olive Kepler Weds Edwin Rubeck in May Ceremony

Miss Olive Kepler, of Boonsboro, married Edwin Rubeck, son of Mr and Mrs Harry Rubeck, in a May 12 ceremony at Emmanuel United Brethren church parsonage with Rev Paul Holdcraft officiating. The bride wore a brown traveling suit with gardenia corsage. she is a Boonsboro high school graduate. Mr Rubeck, formerly with Fairchild Aircraft, will join his wife in Burlington North Carolina. Mrs Rubeck plans to relocate soon. An Institute for children’s teachers and workers will be held today at Church of the Brethren, East Washington and Mulberry, with Miss Mary Grace Martin guiding sessions on Bible school administration and teaching methods.
