Library group to hear state library extension talk
Hagerstown residents will travel to Washington this week for American Library Association meetings. John B. Ferguson, a Washington County Library trustee, will address the trustees section on Wednesday May 15 at 5 30 p m in the Washington Hotel, speaking on opportunities for library extension work with children. Local representatives attending include Miss Mary L Titcomb Mile Elsa de Bondell Miss Lillian Barkdoll Miss Mary Semler Miss NeRie Chrissinger and Miss Flory.

Ten Injured In Three Automobile Accidents
Ten persons were injured, none seriously, in three accidents yesterday afternoon. Eight suffered minor injuries when vehicles driven by J R Kidwell of Lanvale Street and Oscar Wilhide collided on Leitersburg pike. Kidwell and others including Ernest Sox, Mary Margaret Main, Anna Shoemaker, Mrs. Lloyd Cunningham, and Lloyd and Vivian Cunningham were treated at Washington County Hospital and discharged. Wilhide said both cars were headed toward Waynesboro with Kidwell ahead. Wilhide attempted to pass and the Kidwell car overturned, pinning occupants. Deputy Cushwa listed both drivers for appearance at Police Headquarters. Lester Baker of Funkstown had minor injuries when his car collided with J H Poffenberger and E R Ambrose on the Sharpsburg pike four miles from Hagerstown. Baker was the only injured. All summoned to appear at Police Headquarters. Miss Sadie Shockey was injured when Myrtle Karper and Earl Mann’s cars collided on The Terrace about 11 p.m.. Shockey rode in Karper’s car as both vehicles suffered heavy damage.

Clyde Hoffman of 244 East South Boulevard suffered a crushed shoulder when a Frigidaire cargo slipped from a truck and fell on him at the P. H E store room on East Baltimore Street during unloading. He is employed by Potomac Edison Company and was seriously hurt around noon Saturday.

Four Nabbed in Dry Raids in Cumberland Area
