In Collington Maryland on May 6 Prince Georges county officer Henry Briscoe shot and killed Frank Johnson a 40 year old Negro World War veteran after Johnson fired three rifle shots from outside his patrol car Briscoe returned four shots fatally wounding Johnson who died on the way to a Washington hospital in a Glendale ambulance.

New Yorker Hurt When Hit By Car
Henry Pine of New York City was struck on the National Highway near Funkstown late last night. He suffered a head laceration requiring several stitches and was taken to Washington County Hospital by car driver William E. Hebb. Hebb, who could not see Pine in time, said he was momentarily blinded by oncoming headlights while Pine walked on the concrete shoulder.

World’s Fair 1989 Good Will Courier Visits State Capital
