A string of obituaries from Wilkes-Barre and nearby areas notes the deaths of Mrs. Guy L. Stine aged 20 from convulsions in Wilkes-Barre after marriage to Mr. Stine, Calvin C. Negrey, Charles M. Surviving relatives include spouses, mothers, siblings, and children. funeral arrangements and church services are announced or to be announced, with interments in Mercesburg Beaver Creek and other local cemeteries.

Norris Declares Candidacy for Senate Nomination

The State Senate president William J. Norris announced his bid for the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate. Party leaders offered little endorsement with Governor Albert C. Ritchie and John Walter Smith associates reportedly silent. Norris appeared to announce without formal sanctions, while former Congressman David J. Lewis faced Norris in the race. Mahon showed lukewarm to cool support, with some noting no backing yet.

Tom Bowers Charms Chambersburg Audience With Encores

Four Injured When Car Skids On Wet Highway

Four occupants were injured yesterday afternoon when the touring car of William H. Reams of Washington skidded on a wet highway east of New Market and overturned. The vehicle carried eight passengers. four others escaped injury. The injured were taken to Frederick City Hospital and include Mrs Frank C Soper of Buchanan Virginia with fractured pelvis and shock, Rev Frank C Soper of Buchanan West Virginia with fractured ribs, Mrs W H Reams of Washington with shock, and W H Reams of Washington with bruises. Four occupants were unharmed. The party had been traveling from Washington to Gettysburg and were returning when the crash occurred.

School Art Exhibit at Williamsport High School

Patrons and pupils of Williamsport schools attended an eighth grade art exhibit in the high school auditorium. Many fine pictures were shown and some purchased by visitors. Refreshments were served and music and dancing provided evening entertainment.

Haston Maryland May 4 The Haston Farmers and Mill Producers Association held a monthly meeting in the courthouse to discuss prospects for the current fruit crop. Officials believe apples on the Eastern Shore may yield a hundred per cent crop.

Maryland Classis elects delegates and alternates to the General Synod to meet in Hickory North Carolina. Officials report communicants 11,922 with 10,031 members active and 6,485 Sunday school attendees. Total benevolent and church contributions rise to 92,207 and 132,714 respectively.
