Realty turnover near a quarter million dollars shows heavy activity with multiple transfers. Listings include properties on Williamsport Green Castle road, Fountain Head Heights, and East Washington Street, among others, involving numerous buyers and sellers and values ranging up to about 25 000.
A batch of real estate deeds from Hagerstown and surrounding towns records transfers involving many individuals and couples. Notable entries include Albert L. Miner to Bessie H. William R. Reid, 24, and Anna May Murray, 17, were arrested by State Trooper Samuel Conrad on larceny charges totaling about 105 dollars. The pair allegedly stole a shotgun, two watches, shoes, shells, jackets, dresses, and cash from Elizabeth Carper's home on Western Pike. About half the goods were recovered in a stone pile near the Carpers' home. Reid was said to have pawned the shotgun and one watch in Cumberland.

Ballots postcards and letters poured into the Hagerstown Chamber of Commerce office yesterday as residents were urged to mail ballots on daylight saving time for summer months. Ballots mailed last evening accompany the chamber bulletin and a city wide vote will be reviewed by the Mayor and Council.
The Hagerstown Chamber of Commerce today stated it is not advocating daylight saving time and is acting only as a clearing house. The office has received letters opposing and supporting the change, but the chamber remains completely neutral in the ballot matter.

J A Anwyll announced Monongahela Power Company employees rejected union affiliation by a large margin in an NLRB election. Of 633 ballots, 448 favored the company, 117 for AFL United Mine Workers District 50, 72 for CIO Electrical Workers, with 13 challenged across Fairmont Clarksburg Morgantown Mannington Parkersburg and surrounding areas.
Washington on March 30 the Truman administration faced a Senate setback over the minimum wage bill as a farm price boost rider passed 42 to 31 despite veto threats. Leaders warned of a possible veto if the rider becomes law, while debates pointed to political maneuvering and uncertain outcomes for labor and farmers. A separate dumping complaint in South Cannon Avenue was reported to the Police Department.

He works in base engineer supply after arriving from the States. He attended Hagerstown High School and previously worked as an auto mechanic. His wife Betty Virginia Godlove and their four year old son Andy David plus three year old daughter Paulette live at the same address. he is the son of Mrs. Mamie I. Wolfensberger.
County official Hugh K Troxell filed his certificate of candidacy yesterday to seek another term as county treasurer. He is finishing a four year term in a role considered the county’s top political prize.

Witnesses noted the fall occurred during a pause when a character aimed a revolver at his head. Richard Alter a Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company lineman spent about 20 uneasy minutes yesterday afternoon while repairing a cable at Fountain Head as two sagging power lines arced nearby. Potomac Edison crews shut off power and Alter descended safely.
