Keedysville observer J A Wer reports fruit blossoms survived a near freezing night as a brisk wind dried the blossoms early. Later a southerly wind kept temperatures above freezing, contrasting with two historic April 1 lows, 196? and 198? with 10 and 14 above zero.
Postmaster Thom A. M. Simpson announced that bond sales at the local post of Ice last month were the smallest for any month since World War II. Sales totaled 21 and 43.75 dollars with receipts of 26 352.56 dollars, down from 33 558.71 in March 1945, a decrease of 7 466.15.
Two decrees of divorce and one decree of annulment were handed down this morning. Harold Stanley Near was granted a divorce from Grace Elizabeth Near and Ellen Gray Golden from Earl Curtis Golden. Charles Edward Noland was granted an annulment of his marriage to Violet Irene Noland. Attorney Calvert K. Hartle appeared in all three cases.
