Birthday Party Held Thursday for Marlin Thurmond

Marlin Thurmond celebrated his twenty fifth birthday at home on West Aniettia street with a surprise party hosted by Mrs. Thurmond. A green and white color scheme framed the table settings and cake. Guests included Mr and Mrs Donald Steward, Mr and Mrs James Baker, Mr and Mrs Howard Smith, Mr and Mrs Harold Helm, Mr and Mrs Herschel Thurmond, Mr and Mrs Edward Fox, Stafford Thurmond and Mr and Mrs Richard Conrad of Clearspring. Over 750000 people visited Akron Ohio municipal airport in 1932.

Record Attendance At Fire Co Dance In Smithsburg

A record attendance of 118 couples attended the Smithsburg Community Fire Company square dance on Thursday night. Attendees came from Hagerstown Shippensburg Greencastle Chambersburg Mercersburg Waynesboro and Leitersburg. The Dixie Ramblers provided music and George Wiles was the caller. Proceeds fund up to date firefighting equipment for the company.

Boonsboro Couple Wed at Zion Church in Middletown

Miss Irene E. Wolfe of Boonsboro wed William R. Adams near Middletown at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in a Wednesday night ceremony. Rev. L Ralph Tabor officiated. Mrs Adams graduated Boonsboro High School, Mr Adams Middletown High School graduate and farmer with his father. The couple left for a brief wedding trip and will reside near Middletown.

The Musketeer of Hargrave Military Academy Chatham Virginia earned second place in the military school publications at the Columbia Scholastic Press Association national convention.
