Morality of Movies Discussed by Kiwanis Speaker
The Kiwanis club in Burlington heard Globe Films director J. D. Launt discuss Hollywood morals. He argued cinema is a large legitimate business attracting diverse talent, not a moral abyss, and that public taste, not censors, should guide film content. He cited industry growth, press agent sensationalism changing, and noted distributors adapt to revenue. He also mentioned ongoing hotel conversations and the local Gloria Films project The Story without an End to be shot at Hamilton Hotel and shown at Sixon Academy Theater.
