United States Coast Guard cutters are assigned to safeguard trans Atlantic liners from drifting ice. Ice patrols will locate icebergs near routes and broadcast warnings to seacraft as ice flows drift south from polar regions.
Police seized a 1¢-gallon still two barrels of mash and a gallon of corn whisky in a raid on a High Street house. Chief Barber and Patrolmen Trumpower Sailes and Devine conducted the raid early yesterday. the house was deserted. A man living there was said to be selling.
Yesterday morning officers raided a fully furnished but unoccupied residence and found a still in operation on a lighted stove. Police are hunting the man believed to have lived there as the search continues.
