City Council approves larger sewer bonds and new engine
At a meeting the Mayor and City Council increased the sewerage bond authorization to 450000, plus 250000 already issued, totaling 700000, to finish sewerage work and build a disposal plant in Hagerstown. The council also plans a new fire engine for the First Hose Company, five hundred feet of hose for each company, and an automatic electric switch for Western Enterprise Fire Company Hall. An ordinance update, street paving repairs, street name changes, and office consolidation for tax collectors were discussed.

Potomac Public Service seeks large dam and hydroplant
The Potomac Public Service Corporation will file for permission to erect a dam and hydroplant at Emma Edes Fort on the Cacapon River near Hancock in Morgan County West Virginia. The project would flood about 4000 acres in Morgan and Hampshire counties and add to plants already operated along the Potomac Shenandoah and nearby states. Two boys, Claude Sandy and Albert Henry both 16, were sentenced as incorrigible and sent to St Marys Industrial School by Justice Bitner after Patrolman Brown saw them leaving the Arcade building.
