Baltimore Indicts 30 Policemen in Lottery Probe
A Baltimore grand jury indicted thirty officers, including six sergeants, on conspiracy and bribery links to alleged lottery rackets. Twenty two officers were suspended and stripped of badges, with eight others charged in separate bribery cases. Two Injured In Accident On Sideling Hill
A west bound truck derailed while descending Sideling Hill near Hancock and crashed into a stone embankment. One man Thomas Brown of Baltimore suffered a probable skull fracture. Charles Lioy of Baltimore was lightly injured. Both were hospitalized in Cumberland. The Jacobs Transfer Company truck carried brick tile. motorists extricated the men and the highway was cleared by the State Roads Commission. Deputy Leister Isanogle investigated.

Goodyear firm says it will not sign with union
President Paul W. Litchfield of Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company told reporters in Akron Ohio that the committee will not sign any agreement with the United Rubber Workers even if a majority of employees vote to be represented by the union. He cited two reasons, saying the law does not require it and that they will not discuss the second reason.

Stocking Making Talk At Trinity Lutheran Plant
Paul H. Fryer president of Victor Silk Hosiery Corp spoke to the 9:30 Class of Trinity Lutheran Sunday school at the plant last evening. He described silk thread creation from cocoons and the manufacture of silk stockings, guiding the class through the mill and showing samples. Fryer noted 300000 stitches per stocking and over 6500 needles per machine, with weekly output about 16000 pairs. Fifty two class members attended and refreshments followed. Jacob Roessner is the class teacher.
