The Maryland Post Office Clerks Association concluded its second annual convention at Hotel Hamilton naming Annanohs city for 1933 and reelecting Leo M. Bowers as president. The group voted against affiliation with any outside labor organization and adopted eight resolutions including optional retirement after 30 years and 254 overtime days per year. Five Hurt In Auto Mishap Near Funkstown
Five persons escaped with minor injuries when their car sideswiped another vehicle on the National Highway near Funkstown and overturned. The driver Harold A. Alexander and six other occupants listed, all treated for cuts and bruises. Deputies investigated a second hit and run causing the arrest of Frank Faulders for DUI and leaving the scene.

Raleigh NC June 25. Dr B W Wells of North Carolina State college says bald spots on high altitude mountains result from former Indian camps. He explains the camps allowed grasses and sedge to gain a foothold and once established, they froze out trees and shrubs that normally grow at those elevations.

County Scouts Erect Archway at National Jamboree
Washington June 28 Scouts at the National Boy Scout Jamboree raised a blue and gold gateway archway for the Hagers town encampment. The archway displayed the scout law in golden letters on a blue background. Hearing Tonight Howard Ridenour Big Pool was arrested early Sunday by State Police Corp Dillinger on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence and will have a hearing this evening.
