Prohibition Agents Furloughed in Maryland July 1
Federal Prohibition agents based in Hagerstown will be furloughed starting July 1 per Attorney General Homer Cummings. William R. Harvey and Charles E. Cushwa remain in service. Furloughed agents include Ralph S. Tagg R B Stover Charles E Hayes James L Ash and William V Long along with 26 additional agents elsewhere in Maryland. Raphael I Levin an injunction attorney in Baltimore remains noted among those affected.

Youth Admits To Slaying Father In Butler Area
Paul Uhing, 21, of Vandergrift, told state police he killed his father Steve Uhing after alleging abuse to his mother. The elder man, a truckman and father of nine, was shot Saturday by a pond near their home. Uhing surrendered to neighbors and was held for charges.

Lindberghs Plan For Ocean Flight
New York reports Colonel Charles A Lindbergh will be accompanied by his wife on a pending flight to Greenland within two or three weeks. The trip may extend to Iceland and possibly Denmark to survey routes for Pan-American Airways and test landing sites for a northern trans Atlantic route. Mrs Lindbergh is a trained pilot navigator radio operator and photographer. Slight fire damage occurred at Frank Byrds Liberty street home Saturday night quickly put out by firefighters.

Baptists to Convene at Braddock Heights Assembly
The 17th Maryland Baptist Summer Assembly will run July 7 to 14 at Braddock Heights with 350 to 400 attendees from Maryland the District of Columbia and northern Virginia. Delegates will stay at Braddock Heights while Frederick and Hagerstown Baptists commute daily. Leaders include Rev. William C. Royal Dr. Joseph T. Watts and H. W. C. Millington. The Baptist Young People's Union Conference runs July 7 to 9 with multiple departments July 10 to 14.
