City auditor George Staybaugh reported Hagerstown’s bonded indebtedness at 153.83 dollars per person, based on a 32,839 population estimate from the State Health Department as of July 1, 1937. The per capita tax was 10.12 dollars in 1936, down from 12.14 dollars in 1933.

City to Launch Drive on Delinquent Sewer Rents

The city of Hagerstown will start a drive next week against property owners delinquent in sewer rent payments. Mayor W. Lee Elgin and the City Council order a concerted effort by the tax collector to cut the growing figure. Delinquent sewer debt stood at 361,000 at the 1937 fiscal year end, with an annual rise of about 2,000 since 1934.

Special Program At St. Paul's Church

St Pauls Methodist Church will host its annual College and High School service this Sunday evening at 7 30 o clock.
