The Rev. Dr. George C. Bason, former pastor of St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Hagerstown and former superintendent of the Frederick district, died suddenly at his Monkton home. Born in 1834 at Monkton, he studied at Dickinson College and practiced law before joining the ministry. He led St. Paul’s in this city thirty one years ago and pastored six Baltimore churches before retiring in 1922. He is survived by his widow, two daughters, three sons, and several siblings.
