Judge D K McLaughlin suspended a 50 day sentence for giving a girlfriend a black eye and warned that courts won’t be used to patch up lovers quarrels. Charles W Miller Jr of Funkstown appealed a 30 day jail term from Magistrate Irving M Einbinder after he and girlfriend Pauline Stotler decided to get along. Stotler testified she had been beaten before, but this was the first time she swore out a warrant. The court said running to a magistrate by people after a fight cannot be condoned when they later drop the matter.
