Virginia Hobingon returns from Florida while families from Sharon Ohio Philadelphia and Washington visit Miss Virginia Robinson and Miss Nellie, with several attending Rotary conventions in Minneapolis and George Washington University graduation.
The Rural Women’s Clubs announce a schedule for next week with meetings at Halfway Club on Tuesday at 3 o’clock, Downsville Club on Wednesday afternoon, and a County Agent’s office gathering Saturday at 3 o’clock. The Social Committee of the Federation is called by Mrs Wil lam Downey, and other clubs will skip meetings due to members attending the short course at College Parks.
A fragmented Trinity Lutheran choir will accompany Passion Play pictures shown Tuesday night in St. Johns auditorium. The choir lists sopranos altos tenors and bassos from area members, plus solo numbers and a mixed quartet performing sacred pieces including The Palms Nearer My God to Thee and Tell Me the Story of Jesus.
The Meridian Club schedules its quarterly business meeting at Miss Charlotte Ellot’s home on Monday evening, June 1. The event set to cover routine club affairs and upcoming activities.
Miss Ruth Henze daughter of Mr and Mrs William Henze will wed Theodore Waltersdorff of Hanover Pa tomorrow morning at St Pauls Methodist Church. The couple plan a short wedding breakfast for family and friends then motor west and return to Hanover to make their home about August 1.
Elmer G. Dietrich was elected Grand- Sentinel of the United Commercial Travelers Association for the district covering Maryland Virginia West Virginia and the District of Columbia at the convention in Norfolk Virginia. He and Floyd Smoot and O S Bloom have returned to Hagerstown after the event. The Mary A Williams auxiliary of the Kings Daughters met at Laura R Brooks 312 North Jonathan Street showing appreciation for public favors and support from the senior organization. The auxiliary has cared for city cases and has raised nearly 250 for the work and will meet again the first Monday in September.

MrsPhilipina Harm, mother of former Mayor Reinhold J Halm, died at her Emmitsburg home aged 97. Miss Pearl Stockslager and Ran fall G Hermann, Miss Mary M Davis, Downaville, Newton Earl Hoffman Williamsport, Clarence Leggett Boonsboro, and Sallie Swope Charles Town were among newlyweds. John H Harp, missing two years, returned for a 30 day Navy visit after traveling the world. A local banker estimated autos valued at up to 250000 in the city. Miss Ardath Martin will accompany. Program includes a capital sight-seeing trip and Haynes Point picnic. Prominent speakers include Mrs Evelyn Tobey and Dr Esther L Richards. A demo by Funkstown club members Mrs Ray Hoover and Mrs A E Barnes highlighted by championship housewives of Maryland claim. Also lists attendees from Clearspring Cavetown Huyetts Big Pool Lappans Funkstown Keedysville and marriage licenses and a Cavetown Sunday picnic date at City Park in Hagerstown.
A social event at Mr and Mrs J Zombro's Bangs home featured a long guest list including Kathleen Zombro and numerous Demottez Sigler and White family members. The play Aaron Slick from Punkin Crick was staged in Downsville Town Friday to a good crowd and will be repeated tonight. Dr J Walter Layman completed post graduate surgery and neurology studies in New York and Philadelphia and returned to Hagerstown.
