Fountain Head Ladies Golf Team Defeats Chambersburg 12–0

The Fountain Head ladies golf team routed Chambersburg Country Club 12 to 0 in an 18 hole match. Players included Mrs Ben Reed, Mrs Lynn Brumback, Mrs Richard B Norment, Mrs Randolph Moore, Mrs Willis Altenderfer, Miss Emma Geiser and Mrs William J Clapp. On June 20 the local team faces Waynesboro Country Club.

Federal Relief Grants Totaling 5.99 Million to Four States

The Federal Relief Administration announced grants totaling 5,986,202 dollars to four states. Maryland received 1.6 million including 1.239 million for general relief and work program and 96,541 for transient relief. Additional allocations covered National Re-employment service, student-aid program costs, relief research, needy fishermen, CWA armory materials in Baltimore, and Public Works of Art project completion.
