Des Moines, June 2. Reece Lewis, 20, son of State Labor Federation president J. C Lewis, shot and killed his high school sweetheart Eileen Pratt late yesterday before dying of a self-inflicted wound. Coroner William Carpenter called it murder and death by own action. no inquest. The girl's grandmother found them together.

Clubman Seized After Chase Through Chicago Streets
Harry W. Gahagan a 36 year old real estate executive and clubman, was seized early today after detectives fired several shots at his car during a two mile chase through the Gold Coast. He was charged with driving while intoxicated. Sergeant George Johnstone said Gahagan sped through Lincoln Park at top speed and officers had to fire at the rear of the fleeing vehicle before it stopped.

Violence shuts Tennessee ore mine after shootout near Muscoda
Three Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railroad Co officers were wounded early today in a battle near the Muscoda ore mine as about 150 shots rang out.
