Police and deputy sheriffs continue searching for loot brought here by Paul Miller now under arrest at Binghampton New York. Several hundred dollars worth of stolen goods were recovered yesterday after Miller confessed. A set of silverware two violins rugs four Victrolas and a harp have been found. Items were taken from a local pawn shop and a Frog Hollow residence near Two Licks. Miller may be from Hagerstown and said to have stolen items from Johnstown and another Pennsylvania city. He apparently brought the haul here with a truck or car.
Twenty nine survivors of the Collier Kershaw reached Boston on June 2 after the Garfield steamer rammed and sank the ship, with seven lives lost.

Washington June 2 The women of America comprising 49 percent of eligible voters will be represented at the Republican convention by less than 6 percent of delegates. Final returns show 64 women delegates and 229 alternates, totaling 303 or about 15 percent of the convention seats, well below 1924 levels. West Virginia may send one or two women among alternates. several states will have no women delegates or alternates.
Twenty nine building permits were issued in May for new buildings and alterations totaling about $26,000. It was the lowest May figure in years with only four new dwellings permitted. Most permits covered garages, fourteen garages were erected. In April thirty four permits were issued for work valued at $35,425. J R Johnson on McKee avenue received a permit for a new frame dwelling. Jerry Davis at George street and Wise avenue obtained a permit for a house and store.
New York June 2 An association of interest formed between Thomas Edison Inc and Splitdorf Bethlehem Electric Company for the manufacture and sale of electric radio receivers and electric phonographs Walter Rautenstrauch president of Splitdorf Bethlehem announced. Operations will be conducted under combined Splitdorf and Edison patents under licenses of the Radio Corporation of America and allied corporations The two companies will retain their respective identities.
In Washington on June 2 Chas M Howell of Kansas City will nominate Senator Reed at Houston. Canada accepts invitation to join negotiations for Kellogg treaty and renounce war.

Harry K Startzman longtime Hagerstown leader and former postmaster died at his home 665 Oak Hall avenue from paralysis after a week long illness aged 60. He served in the Maryland House of Delegates in 1902 and was postmaster from 1903 to 1916. A Mason and Shriner, he left a wife Mabel and daughter Mrs Charles Connor with two grandsons. Funeral Monday at 3 p.m. at his home, with Knights Templar in charge. Burial in Rosa Hill cemetery.
The Knights of Friendship Lodge, formed about seven years ago, is running a membership campaign with promising results. Sir Knight Marshal J. S. Causher leads the lodge, which meets in the Thomas Building.
