In five weeks near Charleston, South Carolina, two medical students recorded forty three species of reptiles and amphibians. The study notes the diverse fauna encountered during field work conducted by the students.
Paris July 29 1935 English designer Peggy Morris showcased a black angora wool coat with a high collar and chin strap bonnets. The St. Paul’s M. E. church Men’s Bible Class held an annual outing at Brewer’s clubhouse along Conococheague creek. Rev. J. M. Gillum teaches the class. Activities included swimming boating horse shoe pitching croquet target shooting golf and baseball followed by a bountiful picnic lunch. Committees were led by E. E. Ladies of Smithsburg organize a card party at Mr and Mrs Robert Towson residence on Tuesday August 1 to benefit St Ann's Episcopal Church Guild. The annual event draws guests from Hagerstown and nearby areas. The Church of God Williamsport lists services led by Pastor J E Stephen with Sunday School at 9 80, morning service 10 18, YP service 2 716, and prayer meeting Thursday at 3 00.
A card party hosted by the Catholic Daughters of America drew about seventy guests to Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Long’s Brown avenue home on Wednesday evening. Prizes went to Mrs. A. Zdelman and Mrs. Martha Nye for the ladies and Messrs. Winger and Shawbaugh for the gentlemen. Music by Lumm's Hotcha orchestra complemented refreshments and dancing afterward. Chair Mrs. LC Lushbaugh with assistants Mrs. Mame Bloom Mrs. Late Humelsine and Mrs. R. Z. Longe.
Miss Susan Forsythe hosted a wiener roast at her Cearfoss area home with games music by Harold Knode and a turnout of numerous Forsythe, Springer, Weaver and Hartranft families plus friends. Attendees included Charles and Florence Forsythe, Joseph Stine, Clarence Brewer, Nellie Kessecker, Sallie Haulette, Ruth Springer, Elizabeth Lowe, Thelma Leonard, Mary Seward, Grace Weaver, Betty Brewer, Harold Hartranft, Milton Knode and many others. The event featured contests and local social gathering activities.
The Hagerstown W C T U regular meeting is postponed to the third Tuesday August 15 at 5 30 pm. A lawn fete will be held at Mrs H K Zeller 854 Dewey Avenue. All members are invited and urged to attend. details from Mrs Zeller.

Attendees included Mrs. Ernest Iniff Mrs. Daniel Grove Mrs. George Lowman and others. activities featured swimming boating and card games. A separate Wiener Roast at Roy Shank's Downsville Pike home drew numerous guests including Miss Etha Shank Miss Beulah Shank Helen Davis and many more.
