Thurmont assistant postmaster Stanley Damuth Jr., 21, died after being thrown from a fire truck responding to a call near Emmitsburg. Damuth, a Fire Company member, was riding the truck when it turned suddenly and struck a large sign board. He passed away en route to Gettysburg hospital. son of Stanley R. Damuth, cashier at Farmers State Bank, and former Gettysburg College student.
