In Greenville Delaware?July 18 a Negro youth used a pick as a disguise. Railway Policeman M A Brown chased him and identified him as a road gang member. The youth testified he believed Brown would not recognize him as a hobo if he were working with a pick. The judge sentenced him to 22 days.
Local thunder showers likely late tonight or Sunday. Sunday will be not quite so warm, then cooler Sunday night and Monday. A rubbish burn at the Cumberland city dump sparked a fire that climbed the slope of Will's mountain on the outskirts of town. District Forester H. C. Buckingham reported the blaze burned about 25 acres of timber and was still smouldering today.

Columbus Ohio reports the death of Major General Logan Feland retired U S Marine Corps and staff member to General John J Pershing during World War I. He collapsed from a heart attack last night at age 67.

Nine people perished when an Ann Arbor passenger train struck a large car carrying two Wheaton families as they returned to Pennsylvania from Dundee. A Hagerstown built product by Foundry Machine Company of Weat Lee was installed in the 60 foot spiral stairs spanning the Tri Borough across the East River. The span was dedicated last Saturday by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The local company provided the stair assembly and related components.
