States Agree on Price for Harper's Ferry Toll Bridge
Maryland and West Virginia propose to pay 75 000 for the toll bridge franchise and wrecked span as a path for regional commerce. Governor Nice and Governor Kump back the bid but oppose any toll terms, warning federal funds depend on a toll free project. The offer awaits stockholder approval after a Baltimore meeting with officials from the road commissions and the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.
