Fire on Aircraft Carrier Ranger Rages Offshore

Flames rose to the flight deck up to 70 feet as an explosion triggered a three hour fire aboard the carrier Ranger at Norfolk Navy Yard. Several sailors were treated for shock and exhaustion. a large amount of equipment was damaged or possibly rendered inoperable. Officials had no definite injury or blast cause details. Fire controlled by 5 p.m. EST.

Rabbits Rising as Gardeners Fight Pest in Cambridge

In Cambridge Maryland gardeners complain of a growing rabbit problem as tularemia cases decline. State Game Warden E Lee Le Compte notes rabbits have increased while tularemia, known as rabbit fever, has fallen for about eight years.
