Kiwanis Club Aims to Form At Berkeley Springs Meeting
Kiwanis clubs from Frederick and end Hagerstown Martinshore Charles Town Winchester and Washington will be represented at a Berkeley Springs gathering Friday evening where a new Kiwanis club is expected to form. Edwin B Hi of Washington the newly elected Kiwanis International trustee will lead the program. West Virginia district governor Russell Adams of Sistersville and Lieutenant Governor Zack Hampton of Fairmont will attend. Dinner will be served at a hotel then the meeting will be held in the State Park adjoining the hotel.

Man is Arrested in Carlisle Shooting Case
Calvin Newman aged 64 of Sterretts Gap was arrested by State Police on a shooting charge after Edna Storm 42 of near Westminster was wounded in the right leg and hospitalized in Carlisle. Storm said she visited Sterretts Gap to find a new tenant for the station they owned in 1929, claiming Newman sold his stake to her but refused to leave.

Four Hurt In Auto Mishap On Boonsboro Downsville Pike
Four persons were injured in a two car collision on the Boonsboro Downsville pike Sunday evening just before seven. EB L. Anthony was pinned beneath his car with severe chest injuries plus cuts. Mrs. Sara Anthony suffered a badly lacerated arm. Pearl Kettle likely had internal injuries. C. J. Hersh, driver of the other car, was only lightly hurt and discharged after treatment. Deputy Emmett N. Daley investigated. victims were rushed to Washington County Hospital.

Victim Dies After July Car Crash In Canal Side
George W. Davis, 60, of Middletown, passenger in a car that left the road and overturned into the C. and Q. Canal near Samples Manor on July 4, died at home yesterday. Willie Bowlus, Middletown, the driver, remains hospitalized. Russell of Samples Manor was discharged. An inquest likely today.

Two Injured in Funkstown Car Collision
In Funkstown about 11:30 last night two people were injured and four other passengers escaped unharmed when two cars collided. Mrs. Eadie Jones of Waynesboro and Edgar Myers of Greencastle were treated and released from Washington County Hospital for minor cuts and bruises. Clarence Mohn of Waynesboro faced a reckless driving charge after the crash with Arthur Holmes of Smithsboro driving the other car.

Two Found Dead In Death by Own Action Pact
NORWALK, Conn. July 9 Robert J. Easton age 64 and his daughter Jayne 18 were found dead in the garage behind their home in a death by own action pact. Police said carbon monoxide poisoning from a car with the ignition on and a dead battery and empty gas tank caused the deaths. The family dog lay beneath the car. Police said financial distress likely drove the pact as a $2,000 trust fund for Jayne, once set by her mother, had dwindled to 200.
