Fireworks Display Draws Large Crowds and Scout Support
Approximately 9 000 attended the annual fireworks demonstration sponsored by the Scouts. The event at Grove field near the fairgrounds featured 42 set pieces, one hour fifteen minutes, with help from four FERA workers and police detail. Captain Emmett led traffic control and liability insurance was covered by the Scouts. A street parade and free movie show for 1 200 children organized by Kiwanis and Warner Brothers Maryland Theatre followed, with Y M C A Junior Band and Moose Drum Corps providing music.
