Local residents return home and visit family after trips to Pittsburgh Chicago and other towns. Included are recoveries and illnesses, guests at homes, and summer plans with numerous cousins friends and relatives across Williamsport and surrounding areas.
The wedding of Alice Rendh Miller and Brooks Fiske took place June 29 at 6:00 PM at the Gans summer home in Le Guna Beach California. The ceremony was conducted by a Presbyterian minister from Scripps College where the bride studied. After a reception for about fifty guests the couple planned a honeymoon in Honolulu and will reside in Huntington Park California.
Miss Cora Eleanor Keefer daughter of Mr and Mrs Lewin Keefer of Hánsock Maryland married Silas Woodrow Bennett son of Mrs Bertha Bennett and the late Silas Bennett Cumberland. Rev C H Wakeman officiated at the First Church of the Brethren. They will reside in Cumberland. ANNOUNCE BIRTH Patsy Joan born July 1 to Mr and Mrs Howard Miller Marbern Road weight seven pounds.
Lieutenant Ralph D. Smith of the U S Navy and his wife with their infant son visit Mr and Mrs A M Smith on Broadway. A Hagerstown High School graduate class of 22 and Naval Academy class of 26, Smith has spent seven years at sea with the Pacific fleet, three aboard the battleship West Virginia, and will proceed to Annapolis for naval postgraduate school.
The St. Mark's Ten of St. Mark's Lutheran Church will hold a monthly meeting Thursday evening at 18 Winter Street. The Livingston Circle of the First Baptist Church plans a July 7 gathering at City Park at 2 30 PM with children welcome and a box lunch.

Ha gerstown Lodge of Elks plans an all day outing on Sunday July 9 at Brewer's farm along the Conococheague near Kemps Mill. A record crowd is expected with entertainment from the New Baldwin Cafe boxing wrestling swimming fishing and more. Elks from Ha gerstown and nearby areas and guests are invited.
The method uses six rinses starting with very warm water then lukewarm. A quart of vinegar is poured over the hair to counteract alkali and add softness and gloss. The fifth rinse follows with vinegar and the sixth rinse removes it after a soapless oil shampoo.

Mr and Mrs E P Weaver hosted a tenth birthday party for their granddaughter Louise Horn on the West Side. The event featured dancing and music by the West End Rambles, with many gifts and a long guest list including Louise’s siblings cousins and family friends.
