Record shipment of berries hits Washington County markets
A record berry shipment left Washington County bound for Pittsburgh after three o clock yesterday afternoon. Four carloads from Keedysville and two from Robersville carried about 2000 crates from Keedysville, 1200 from Robersville, and 75 crates from Gapland. At 3 cents a box, growers spent about 8144, with total value around 526,140 at 25 cents per crate.

Health nurses paid salaries in Washington County
The Washington County Health Association reported funds to continue work for three months after a July meeting led by Rev Dr Beett R Wagner. Public health nurses received most of their back salaries up to July first, with $25 unpaid. Meridian club donated nearly $200 from a May benefit, plus $25 from the Elks and $300 from the city council to sustain summer operations. Appreciation resolutions were adopted. additional donations and office rental income are anticipated.
