Relics at Library Show Historic Local Prints
Washington County Public Library hosts an exhibit featuring an early print portfolio linked to Rev James Ross Riley, pastor of Hagerstown from 1819 to 1825, and a 1820s Masonic Ode sheet. The pieces, loaned by Le Dielmen of the Peabody Library, include notes about Riley’s life in Hagerstown and his mission to fund a seminary, with details drawn from 19th century sources. Also on display are a 1823 song collection tied to Mt Moriah Lodge 33 and a 1828 Hagerstown Waltz sheet by Charles Granger, reflecting local music history.
