Cleveland January 19 United States district court took control of historic Erie Railroad under Section 77 of the Federal Bankruptcy Act. The road said it could not meet about 10 million dollars in debt due between January 1 and March 1 and sought the action as a way out of its dilemma. Judge Spenel H West signed the application ordering Erie to submit a financial statement by April 18.
