Roosevelt Driver Fined As Speeding Motoring Case
BALTIMORE January 18 Hall Roosevelt relative of the President's wife had a chauffeur Alfred Pinto fined 140 dollars for speeding on the Baltimore Philadelphia road after a three mile chase. The car was registered to Anna Eleanor Roosevelt and Pinto was not accompanied by Mrs Roosevelt. The magistrate added costs and Pinto could not pay the cash so the judge would collect later. A separate report from Baltimore details a robbery involving a blonde woman and a male companion who forced a taxi driver to surrender 7 dollars and his car keys before fleeing in a D C tagged vehicle.

Navy patrol planes prepare mass flight to Honolulu
Planes from San Diego will take off at eight in the morning for a massed flight to Honolulu. Eighteen Navy patrol planes commanded by Admiral Ernesto King are to fly the 2570 mile great circle route in about 18 hours weather permitting.

New Orleans Man To Manage Hotel Princess Dagmar
R A Brucker of New Orleans will take over management of the Hotel Princess Dagmar starting February 1 after leasing it for several years. Harry J. Cookus, who has run the hotel since August 15 1936 for the Moller estate, will stay until January 31 and then pursue a northern hotel post, moving his family except for a son graduating from Hagertown High School in June. Cookus previously managed hotels in New England after coming from Miami Florida.

Car Recovered From Theft Involving Blind Veteran
In Baltimore on January 18, Arthur Sewell a blind World War veteran had his automobile recovered after being stolen a week earlier. Police found a box of dog biscuits for his guide dog Boy in the car. A radio clock and a battery were missing and the thieves drove the car about 100 miles.

Manufacturer dies in Frederick heart attack at 66
Raymond Roscoe Shank, 66, a lime manufacturer in Frederick Maryland, died at his home early Monday of a heart attack. He married Edith Weatwole of Romney West Virginia on October 17, 1907. She is the only survivor besides two cousins.

Relief survey planned for Maryland welfare system
