Howard William Keyser 58 of Sandy Hook died after an argument in a Glasgow drug store barbershop. Virginia police launched a homicide inquiry. David M Garrett is held without charge. Injured man dies after auto strike in Frederick
John F. Thompson aged 69 died at City Hospital from injuries suffered when struck by a motorist who failed to stop on January 17 in Frederick Maryland. The accident occurred near City Hospital and police pursued the hit and run investigation. Thompson was a local resident and the victim of the incident prompted a surrounding community response.

OPA Allows Early Use Of Red Meat Points For Pork
The Office of Price Administration authorized the advance use of 120 red meat points to stimulate on the farm purchase of pork. Charles L. Mobley was chosen president at the annual First Hose Fire Company election held last night at the South Potomac Street fire hall. Other officers elected included J. R. First Member of Chapter Missing in Action

Aged Woman Dies In Hotel Blaze
The burned body of Miss Elgie Greathead a 1 year old retired school teacher trapped in the Fulton House in McConnellsburg Pa was found by a rescue party about 2 pm yesterday. It was the only fatality from the blaze that razed the hotel one of Fulton county's oldest. All other guests escaped uninjured. Judge Joseph D Mish will draw the jury for February term on Friday January 21 at 9 30.
