Los Angeles January 16 Francis Farmer the rebellious film actress will face a sanity hearing if a petition by psychiatrist Dr Thomas Leonard is approved by Superior Court. Farmer was moved from county jail to the hospital psych ward for the hearing and told Dr Leonard she hears voices constantly and fears people are tampering with her drinks and feet. She also said the hair dresser incident was none of the business and insulting. The date of the hearing was not set. Farmer began serving six months for probation violation in a drunken driving case after resisting arrest at a Hollywood hotel and being taken to jail.

WPA Equipment Reassigned to War Building Programs

Burglary and murder probed on Chestnut Street
Patrolmen Carroll and Hoover investigated last night a burglary and murder in the 800 block of Chestnut street. They found the pigeon coop of Junior Garling entered with 20 pigeons stolen and two left at the scene with their heads wrung off. The door lock was broken.

Bus Schedule Changes Made On Virginia Avenue Route
The city bus company announced a shift from a 20 minute to a 32 minute schedule on the Virginia Avenue route starting Monday January 15. Buses will depart the Square at 6 am then every 30 minutes with extra runs at 7 45 pm 8 15 am 4 45 pm 5 15 pm 5 45 pm and 11 pm. Company officials cited higher traffic and fewer available buses, noting the old schedule was too fast and caused breakdowns. The Williamsport trolley offers a 30 minute schedule on the quarter hour and may suit some riders.
