Camp Ritchie projects under way modernized facility noted
The CWA announces Camp Albert C. Ritchie at Cascade is among the nation’s best equipped National Guard camps. About 275 workers are on site with roughly $90 000 in expenditures, funded partly by a War Department grant of 4 million for similar programs nationwide. Projects include mess halls, storage, fencing, roadwork, and target pits as work shifts at the 650 acre reservation with new brigade headquarters and road construction underway.

New trial granted in Maryland city seat injury case
The Mayor and City Council of Hagerstown were granted a new trial by Judge Charles W. Willard in the county circuit court. Carrie M Hertzler of Hagerstown sued for $10,000 claiming a fall on a sidewalk wire injured her arm and other damages after a stake to a tree wire caused the accident on Oct. 21. A jury had awarded $4,000 on Nov. 15. No written opinion was filed.
