A committee of the American Railroad Labor Executives Association among 1,500 repsearvedbrotherhoods backed a six hour day without pay reduction. They argued for six hours on certain days under a projected provisions plan while addressing other legislation.
Federal full crew rules will override state laws. A new Federal hours of service statute reduces allowable service from 16 to 12 hours. Regulations also shorten train lengths and set stricter limits for rail operations.
The Growers Loan Association will hold a meeting here to review the first year’s activities including a report on $680 677.24 loaned to fruit growers across five states in 1934 with most of it repaid. Officers and directors will be elected and speakers include William H. Johnson of the Production Credit Corporation of Baltimore. The meeting is open to stockholders borrowers and any interested person.
