Baltimore Jan 7 The State Roads Commission plans to seek 26 million dollars for 1940 1941 not including Baltimore City expenditures. Federal funds totaling 2.8 million are included. The two year budget represents a rise of over 8 million from the last biennium, with 1935 1938 budget listed at 17 532 861.

Two Injured In Collision Near Summit Avenue Trolley
Two men were injured in a head on crash between a car and a Williamsport trolley in Summit avenue last night about 6740 o clock. Joseph E Solomon 21 and William Alsip 27 were taken to Washington County Hospital. Solomon lost teeth and suffered facial and leg injuries while Alsip had a forehead cut needing six stitches. Police said the car driver tried to swerve around a parked car but failed to avoid the collision. The front of the auto was demolished and traffic was delayed as a crowd gathered.

Man Leaps From Frederick Bridge. Dies
Frederick January 7 A unidentified man jumped from the Frederick junction bridge over the Monocacy river and died of a broken neck in six feet of water. Ernest Shoemaker and Alonzo Snoots found the body after almost two hours of searching near the bridge on the Georgetown pike between Frederick and Washington.

Richard Randall aged 32 of the 200 block Alexander street was injured late last night when his car struck a mailbox on Paper Mill road near Pangborn boulevard and overturned several times.
