State Legion Set for Maryland Membership Drive
State Commander Wallace Williams of Elkton and Morris Frock Test announced a joint membership drive for the American Legion in Maryland. He noted rapid growth as 41,000 Posts exist worldwide with nearly one million members. two battalions led by Major Mowen and Major DeMent will oversee recruiting offices at Bentz & Dunn, Farmers' and Merchants Bank, and Nettie Mobley’s store. The contest runs through May 30 with dime prizes and a winner-loser reversal, followed by a district Legion banquet in Baltimore venue Emerson Hotel.
