The 40 year old Nazi leader Wilhem Gustloff was shot and killed in Davos Switzerland by 26 year old Yugoslav medical student David Frankfurter. Frankfurter said he aimed to strike at Adolf Hitler to avenge Jewish suffering. He surrendered to police after the killing and was questioned at Davos jail. Gustloff, a physicist linked to the Davis observatory, had lived in Davos for 20 years. He was shot five times as he opened a study door from the threshold.
